Tiny Houses as ADUs in LA
Across California, municipalities are updating their Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) ordinances to be in compliance with new State Law. This allows for small homes to be built as accessory units to a primary dwelling in most all residential neighborhoods!
The County of LA is considering a program that would offer financial incentives to homeowners who build ADUs in their backyards, if they are rented out to families who are currently homeless.
This will be discussed TOMORROW – August 15, 2017 at the LA County Board of supervisors meeting. See the agenda here. All those interested should attend as public comments are allowed!

The City of LA is currently writing language for movable tiny houses (also known as tiny houses on wheels) to be included in their ADU ordinance. We can help this pass by contacting our elected officials to let them know of our support for the inclusion of movable tiny houses as ADUs.
